About Us

The SpringRiver Private Foundation Trust was created in 2014 to “enable transformative experiences”. Our grants have supported this mission in various ways over the years, but our focus remains on educating people about the natural world and environmental concerns. We primarily support organizations based in the New England area.

Mystic Seaport Museum

At Mystic Seaport, SpringRiver has supported the Collections Research Center and youth employment in the Maritime Adventure Program and is currently supporting the Exhibits Fund.

SpringRiver’s past gifts to VINS have helped fund construction of a songbird aviary and support scholarships and travel expenses for visiting school groups. Our most recent gift will partially fund the position of Early Childhood Educator.

After funding construction of a high tunnel at Lafayette’s 3-acre campus farm, SpringRiver contributed to the construction of a 30’ x 48’ greenhouse. In addition to expanding the farm’s production, the greenhouse serves as classroom, research, and community space.

Billings Farm & Museum

With past gifts from SpringRiver, BF&M has been able to offer classes to teach sustainable living skills and install interpretive signage on the Farm’s walking trails. Our latest gift will be used to purchase and plant berry bushes for the farmstead garden and rejuvenate the Farm’s apple orchard.
